Thank you for these items, especially the English acousticals – it’s always good to hear more from a trio of good and, in the case of Eleanor Jones-Hudson at least, now largely forgotten artists.

Speaking of both Jones-Hudson and Dawson, you should hear their 1907 “Cast Thy Burden Upon the Lord” (with Florence Venning and Ernest Pike) if you haven’t already – it’s quite well done, and I found it quite moving. You can find it at http://www.mp3hunting.com/elijah-no-15-cast-thy-burden-upon-the-lord.gem5i.html – I think it originally came from the King’s transfer project.

Thank You so very, very much – for not just the music but your comments!! Now know what I’ll be listening to tomorrow night. My boss in London, late sixties – that mercurial rogue Michael Scott – took me along to a Stokowski at FH!! Remember it more for the visual impact of the man than the music – have no idea what it was – heigh ho! – would be more careful now. Best of Wishes.

I’m so glad you enjoyed ‘Tom Jones’ – and with the “proper” score in hand, too. I think “Dream o’Day Jill” has to be my favourite – my mum used to sing it to me when I was little.
